I turn twenty-four tomorrow! I still love my birthdays like I did when I was a little kid, thought with significantly more patience. I’m not very impressed with this new awareness of how old I’m getting these days, though. But more maudlin talk of age tomorrow!
Since last year I was spoilt rotten with gorgeous and very expensive gifts plus a trip to a very expensive restaurant, I decided to go low-key this year. And since my father works in a small, rural town during the week, and my sister is busy in Sydney with university (her graduation gallery show opens next week, oh my gosh!) I chose to go to Sydney for the day, the day before my birthday, and to have lunch at Doyle’s Seafood at the Sydney Fish Markets. We had my sister’s birthday at Doyle’s Bistro at Watson’s Bay back in March, so there was a nice parallel!
Well, I came back from Hawks Nest early because the place was boring and I needed an internet connection to do my homework. So, I’ve been on my own since Tuesday. And this house is quite scary when you’re alone. ::whimpers:: But Dad’s on the train home today, so it’s all good. I just need to clean up and get dressed and stuff before 3 p.m. ::glances uneasily at clock:: I can do it. Just need to make some updates and stuff.
I got a new fanlisting! Dark Angel episode 10 “Art Attack”. I’m calling it “Professionals.” I really must get that done today and update my fanlistings. Maybe I can apply for a Lizzie McGuire episode too. That would be cool.
Oh! Oh! I found the posters for The Matrix Revolutions! If you aren’t afraid of a little spoiler, click heres and begin your worship! Only… um, 27 days until it’s at the cinema! ::dances wildly:: Wow, that sounds dirty…
Well, I have absolutely nothing left to babble about. Well, actually, I leave my babbling for my livejournal. I’ve finishing thinking coherent thoughts.
I was too sick to go and shop in Sydney. There is no smilie sad enough for me to upload to show my pain.
I’m going to start working on my new original fiction. Basically, a teenage girl dies. And her step sister reflects on her life. I’m wondering if it should be some shocking terminal illness or a murder. Who knows? But we’ll see how it goes. It might actually get somewhere other than FictionPress.Net, which would be a blessing.
And my other story is a sci-fi thing. Sort of what I thought the Matrix would be (let me put it this way; I couldn’t have been more off the money.) But it’s Matrix cross with The Mummy cross with Tomb Raider story. I doubt it will get any further than FictionPress.Net.
The secret handshake bit would be funny. We’d do some loser thing like the “live long and prosper” sign. Of course, if we were nominated in the same category, the first-ever Oscars fistfight could break out. That would be equal parts amusing and shocking.
Okay, to bed, to bed, to bed I go Being sick bites.
I went and saw “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” for the third time today. I think Hilary Duff is such an awesome singer. And I bought the movie’s soundtrack, which rocks. Volare is one of my favourite songs now – it means “to fly” in Italian, I looked it up (I know, I’m such a geek.)
And now I have plans! *Gasp* Tomorrow I’m going to see my Grandmother. Wednesday, I’m going to Sydney and hopefully be near a Reloaded-showing cinema, Thursday, I’m going bowling with my cousins and Friday, we’re going to go and see my other grandparents. And then I go back to school on Tuesday, I have FAME rehearsals till Thursday. We preform it Thursday and next Friday night Mum is taking Amellia and I to Sydney because Dad is flying back in. Busy, busy busy.
And in 7 weeks I have final exams *moans* Ugh. Someone has a serious lack of organizing skills, at school. Grr.
And I’m starting Maths tutoring and extra Art this semester. And piano lessons, and singing and cello lessons. And I’ve joined the gym, and I have to go a minimum of 3 times a week to keep my membership. Ugh. Busy-ness is so overrated.
Lol, my feet are cold, so I’m going to go to bed now
Well, I got sick yesterday, which meant I missed out on going ice skating with my cousins, which sucked. I stayed in bed, and read, and slept and played my very cool Buffy XBox game. I’m stuck with the Enter the Matrix game, so Buffy was a nice break – except Sarah Michelle Gellar doesn’t do the voice for Buffy. It’s a girl named Giselle Loren, who has a very similar voice. Just a fun fact.
I added another button to the Button Wall. I am aiming to add a lot more soon. But I’m feeling lazy.
Damn, I need to install some smilies.
I watched Chocolat last night. It was awesome. But I was totally cracking up because Carrie-Anne Moss (who plays Trinity in the Matrix) played Caroline Clairmont, the woman the mayor has the crush on. And all I could see was Caroline appearing in black leather going “Dodge This.” It was funny.
